About
Mister Bill |

Why "Mister Bill"? . . . Well, that's what the cute neighbor kids call me!
It's also become an inside joke with my younger partners in MMR. (One of the pleasures of aging is the ability to pimp those younger about your "wisdom and experience." Try it - It's fun!)
I've
been going to concerts for 35 years and still get very energized
by a good performance and a good crowd. . . My first concert
was Deep Purple at the Chicago Stadium in
1972. (God, time flies by!) Of course, nothing could have prepared me for the power of a live
arena rock concert. . . I was hooked.
In college, one of my acquaintances - who is now a big time music agent in LA - was able to get us hooked up with great tickets for shows in Chicago and we went to all the "big" concerts through the late 1970's.

My tastes have always
been fairly eclectic, and they still are. The music I enjoy varies with my mood, but I
tend to listen to a lot of indie music - especially acid
rock and electronica.
Favorite Artists
My dear wife maintains that my favorite
artists are simply those I've most recently seen . .
. And there is some truth to that!
Nonetheless, here are some of my current faves:
Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, The Flaming Lips, Hot Chip, Wilco, LCD Soundsystem, TV on the
Radio, Spoon, Sparklehorse, Yo La Tengo, Modest Mouse, Cracker, Bob Weir and Ratdog,
Sea and Cake, Mark Farina, Carl Craig, DJ Krush, Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Deadmau5, Justin Long, Joseph
Arthur, JJ Cale, Richard Buckner, Mark Lanegan, Tortoise, The Decemberists,
Neil Young, Todd Rundgren, Husky Rescue, Nightmares on Wax, Thievery
Corporation, Massive Attack, Fiery Furnaces, Tour Tet, Dubfire, Beat Pharmacy, Bob Dylan, Califone, Radiohead, Vic Chesnutt, Laura Veirs ...
I occasionaly create a streaming music player where you can listen to some of my favorite music - new and old. Here's my most recent entry.
I hope you enjoy it!
