Can I tell you how excited I am to see Deadmau5 in Madison?

The Deadmau5 show on October 19th, originally slated for the Orpheum Theatre, has been moved to the Alliant Energy Center.  I am quite pleased about this.  1. This show sold out at the Orpheum before I got a ticket, and 2. you’ve got to have a dance floor for this!

Deadmau5 is not a DJ, he’s a producer. For his live show he uses Ableton Live and a Lemur to fuse loops and elements in recreating his productions in the live environment. I feel it is my duty to advise you to get to this show if you can.  This is undoubtedly going to be the largest (and therefore most energetic) electro-techno show in Madison in quite some time.  I promise that if you’ve got a groove, you will get it on here. Buy a ticket; I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Check out this clip. It will give you a good idea of the energy that you might expect… I saw Deadmau5 in Detroit in 2008 and the set was en feugo. I’m sure this show will be also.

If you want to check out the “Daft Punk homage” that is his now-huge live production,  check out the video below.

Tickets are $32 and on-sale now, you can get yours here.

Show starts at 7:30.  Quite civilized for a work night! For those so inclined, there will undoubtedly be an after-party for you… This should be rave-a-licious.
