Madison Music Review is proud to the 'Global Grooves Dance Party' with DJ SPINCYCLE at Dobhan on Atwood Ave. on Wednesday, August 13 at 9:00pm. This is a free event.

DJ SPINCYCLE is folk-indie label Amarrass Records co-founder, radio jockey (WORT89.9FM Friday Buzz, Pan Africa, Global Revolutions) and vinyl junkie Ankur Malhotra. Crate-digging grooves from around the world and bringing the dance floor sounds of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, Bombay, Glasgow, London, Lagos and beyond, DJ SPINCYCLE is a throwback to the days of analog with two turntables and a mixer. Expect layers of sound, blending hypnotic West African rhythms with funky, driving grooves from 70's Bollywood and everything in between. DJ SPINCYCLE has performed at clubs, festivals and venues around the US Midwest and in India and featured on the same bill as acts such as Kid Koala and Charanjit Singh, and opened for local bands Kicksville and Tani Diakite and the Afrofunkstars. He is currently working on a live collaboration with folk roots group Barmer Boys.
