I've
been going to concerts for 35 years and still get very energized
by a good performance and a good crowd. . . My first concert
was Deep Purple at the Chicago Stadium in
1972. Nothing could have prepared me for the power of a live
rock concert. . . I was hooked.
My tastes have always
been fairly eclectic, and they stil are, but I currently
tend to listen to a lot of indie music - especially acid
rock and electronica.

My
Playlist - As always TURN IT
UP
Joseph Arthur - Crazy Rain - I'm
a fan of JA, and this entire CD is excellent.
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
- I agree. Judge for yourself. I'd love
to see these guys sometime.
Gnarls Barkley - The Odd
Couple - Like millions of others, I love
this group. DJ Danger Mouse is brilliant, and
Cee--Lo is totally soulful as a singer. Coming
to Summerfest this year!.
Hot Chip - Made in the Dark
- Fred and I saw Al Doyle from Hot Chip
playing guitar and keys with LCD Soundsystem
at the Metro last year.
I loved that show and was impressed with Doyle's
contributions. I like Hot Chip alot and have
The Warning and DJ Kicks in my collection as
well as their most recent - Made in the Dark.
I really like every track on this CD and recommend
it.
Ratdog - Summerfest 2006 - "At
a Siding/Terrapin Flyer"
This was the encore - completing the suite begun
with "Terrapin Station," which opened the
the show. I like this track because it well represents
Ratdog's chops, including Bob Weir's rhythm work..
Also tracks by:
Tortoise and Bonnie Prince Billy - The Brave and the Bold
Magnolia Electric Company - Hard to Love a Man
DJ Mark Farina - Live in Tokyo
DJ Disse - World
Dub Pastry2
Gutter Twins - Saturnalia
Black Mountain - In
the Future
Gary Louris - Vagabonds
