“Comin’ in from the Cold Tour” Homecoming Show
NATTY NATION’s 3rd Annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash
High Noon Saloon, Saturday, February 5th, 2011
(Madison, WI) – NATTY NATION tours throughout the nation and internationally performing all original music. In 2009 they briefly changed their set list to honor a reggae legend at their first annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash. In 2010 they took their tribute show on the road, but in 2011 it has expanded to a 6 state Midwest tour.
The aptly titled “Comin’ In From The Cold Tour” throughout the frigid Midwest is named after the Marley song of the same name. The tour stops in Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin, and culminates in their hometown on Saturday, February 5th. At midnight they will celebrate Marley’s 66th Birthday, February 6, 1945. They honor Marley’s memory by performing his music during this one special time of year, then back to strictly NATTY originals from their 60+ song catalog.
At the High Noon fans will hear NATTY NATION weave Marley’s music in with their own signature Hard Roots Rock Reggae & Dub songs. NATTY’s music is inspired by Marley, but NATTY brings its own unique blend of African-American-Hiphop-Caribbean culture to their reggae music.
Marley helped establish reggae as a popular genre, but also defined reggae as the prophetic voice for the disenfranchised. Listening to NATTY play Bob’s music, fans will be reminded that the struggles for basic human rights--along with food, clothing and shelter--for our brothers and sisters is our struggle and our responsibility. Especially now during our nation’s economic dark days, it is time for all of us to rise up and share our love and resources with those needing help.
Joining NATTY NATION will be R.A.S. Movement from Milwaukee, and WORT’s Tropical Riddims Sound System. Doors open at 8:00 pm with DJs performing. Bands begin at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $5 in advance at www.high-noon.com or $10 at the door.
