(Madison, WI)— The High Noon Saloon is hosting the 5th annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash. Version 5.0 features for the first time two sets and much more of Marley’s music by Madison’s hard roots rock reggae ambassadors NATTY NATION.

Bob Marley’s musical and cultural influences have engendered reggae’s explosive growth. His brilliant blend of the hypnotic danceable music and messages of peace and justice established reggae as an enduring popular musical genre. February 6th would have been his 68th birthday.

2013 marks NATTY’s 18th anniversary of keeping the positive messages of their unique indigenous Wisconsin reggae beats throbbing through the heartland. 100% independent Roots, Rock, Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, and more--this is the unique blend of music that is NATTY NATION.

NATTY NATION prides themselves on playing original music, but in what is a yearly tradition, the band honors Bob Marley’s legacy by paying tribute to the king of reggae during his birthday month. New this year is a two set show by NATTY NATION with an expanded Marley playlist bringing more of the legend’s music to reggae fans.
Joining NATTY NATION is Tropical Riddims Sound System. DJ’s FRP and JAM host WORT-FM’s popular Saturday reggae radio show (Noon-2pm). They warm up the gathering with a full array of Bob Marley’s music spiced up with roots, rock steady, ska, conscious dancehall, dub & more.

The band will also be celebrating the release of the first installment of their fanclub series with the recording of their 2012 performance at the UW Memorial Union Terrace on January 29th. These fanclub recordings are professionally recorded, mixed and mastered in both standard stereo and 5.1 Surround by Jim Newhouser of Studio Earth Remote Recordings. The track “Cease Fire” can be previewed, and the full 2+ hour show can be pre-ordered for half price ($5) at their Bandcamp site: http://nattynation.bandcamp.com

The music starts early with Tropical Riddims Sound System spinning right when the doors open at 8:30 pm. NATTY hits the stage for their first set at 9:30 pm
