Neil Young’s New Album – Le Noise

I’ve been a fan of Neil Young for several decades… To my mind, few artists have been as successful while also maintaining their integrity. And I’ve become fond of him in a way, as we have aged together.

I also have high regard for Daniel Lanois. One of the most successful producers around, I caught a performance by him at the Barrymore a few years ago with Tortoise backing him up. It really was a thing of beauty. And it was the first time that I understood that a producer is first and foremost a deep listener. The musical color that he added during that performance was simply perfect.

I like Neil, I like Lanois, and I like it loud… I think I’m going to like this album. It will be released Sept 28, 2010.  Check out this interesting video.
