Preview: Ryan Bingham at The Majestic on October 24th, 2012

I was introduced to Ryan Bingham from the Drive-By Truckers as a show opener at the Barrymore Theatre back in 2007.  This guy is the “real deal”.  His 31 year old, whiskey-and-cigarette throat tells the story of hard living and his back story reads like a modern day, cowboy novel; leaving home by age 17, living and moving between small towns and family members in the ranching communities of West Texas and New Mexico later becoming  well-acquainted with the life on the  rodeo circuit.

2009’s “The Weary Kind” single for the movie Crazy Heart proved to be a fortunate and ground breaking year for Bingham, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song, Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media, Las, Vegas Film Critics Society Award for Best Original Song and the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film

Last time he came through town, the show was packed – make sure to grab your tickets soon. Singer-songwriter, Jake Smith’s The White Buffalo will open the show. Show Time: Doors at 7:30pm – Show at 8:30pm. Tickets: $25 General Admission
