The Mickey Hart Band at the Majestic Theatre

Mickey Hart will be rolling into Madison on August 28th with his tremendous new band, in support of his latest release – Mysterium Tremendum. It’s an ambitious musical project: take light waves that astrophysicists have recorded originating from the Big Bang, convert those to sound, and then use it to compose music “with the universe.” Of course, it helps when the lyrics are contributed by Robert Hunter.

The Mickey Hart Band consists of Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, Grammy winning percussionist and talking drum master Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Bagale, drummer Ian “Inx” Herman, guitarist Gawain Matthews, and keyboardist / producer, Ben Yonas.

The show will feature brand new material from Mysterium Tremendum, as well as selections of Hart’s greatest hits and Grateful Dead songs. I typically enjoy the musical projects of the former Grateful Dead members.  It’s always a kick to hear the flavor that each puts on songs from the Dead songbook.

Mickey Hart has turned out to be one of the most prolific of the crew in his solo career.
Come on out and hear what he’s been up to recently!

Long a social activist, Mickey appeared in August 1991 before the U.S. Senate Committee on Aging, speaking on the healing value of drumming and rhythm on afflictions associated with aging. He currently serves on the board of “Music and the Brain” at Institute for Music and Neurologic Function at Beth Abraham Hospital. Hart is donating 100% of the ticketing fees from tickets sold on MickeyHart.net to Music Therapy research. We encourage you to support this good cause.
