Madison Music Review and Amarrass Records update
|After nearly 15 years of partnership, Madison Music Review and Amarrass Records are parting ways. Over the course of the collaboration, Madison Music Review produced five North American tours with Padma Shri Lakha Khan and Barmer Boys, managed physical and digital distribution of the Amarrass Records catalogue, orchestrated licensing agreements, and introduced world-class acts such as Bombino, Vieux Farka Toure and Milwaukee-based Painted Caves to Indian audiences.
2024 was a year of changes and upheaval, and we suffered the loss of lead vocalist and founder of Barmer Boys, Manga (1975-2024). This irreplaceable loss has also put the band on hiatus. These, and other circumstances, have led Madison Music Review to no longer work with the band, or represent it. Any queries regarding licensing, sales and distribution may be directed to the Amarrass Records offices in India.
