This was my fourth Dark Star Orchestra show at the Barrymore and as always, it was a fun night packed with some great music, songs and dancing. What was different this time around was DSO performing an original setlist - a first for me. The show started off to a less than packed crowd with Hey Pocky Way, a traditional New Orleans tune that wound its way to Greatest Stoy Ever Told. By the time the band broke into Train to Cry, there were plenty more bodies (and beer) flowing into the hall. This was also the beginning of the favorite part of the show for me with a succession of my favorite numbers - Black Throated Wind, Tom Thumb's Blues, Dear Prudence, Next Time You See Me and Cassidy. Truly one of the best versions of 'Prudence' I have heard in a while!

The second set was a mix of classic early Dead songs, winding jams, space/drums, a rendition of All Along The Watchtower and another Beatles cover - Revolution to close the second set. Here's the complete set list for the show (from the DSO website):

Set 1: Hey Pocky Way> Greatest Story Ever Told, Train to Cry> Black Throated Wind, Tom Thumb's Blues, Dear Prudence, Next Time You See Me, Cassidy, So Many Roads, Saturday Night
Set 2: Space> Alligator> Foolish Heart> Good Lovin'> The Wheel> Dancin' in the Streets> Drums> Space> Eleven Jam> St. Stephen> All Along the Watchtower> Days Between> Miracle> Revolution
Encore: Sing Your Blues Away
