ALEX G / PORCHES / YOUR FRIEND – Thu., April 7, 2016 – The Sett (Union South)

Be sure to catch this opener.  Your Friend is the project of Lawrence-based artist, Taryn Miller. Her new release – Gumption – is a collection of beautiful ambient folk songs that were recorded and produced by Nicolas Vernhes (The War On Drugs, Deerhunter).

Porches is a experimental pop band with some very cool electronic elements. Hailing from New York, Porches is fronted by Aaron Maine.   Their new LP – Pool – was released via Domino on February 5th and has been generating buzz. Pitchfork gave the record a “Best New Music” stamp.

Alex G is a Philadelphia raised musician who began his musical career recording songs in his bedroom. These recordings eventually led to critical acclaim when his 2014 Album, DSU, was named Best Album of the Year by Consequence of Sound, Noisey, Vogue, CMJ, and The Washington Post. Alex G’s newest album, Beach Music, was released this October.
