Cloud Cult with Roma Di Luna @ The Majestic, April 16, 2010

Cloud Cult were packing in loyal fans and Madison hipsters for yet another sold-out show at the Majestic Friday night last week. It was a pleasure to see and hear the band’s sprawling, shimmering layers of sound at work within the beautiful sounding Majestic. Especially since the last time I saw the band was out in the open at the ‘tent stage’ at last year’s 10,000 Lakes Festival with a blustery wind giving company along with a capacity crowd packing the grounds. Another pleasant surprise of the evening was opening act Roma Di Luna, also hailing from Minneapolis. Headed by the wife-husband duo Channy Moon Casselle (vocals, violin) and Alexei Moon Casselle (guitar, vocals), the five person band has a sound that can be described as lush, melancholic and seductive.
