Don’t Miss Tortoise… Playing May 2, 2012 at Majestic Theater

Tortoise has been around for long enough now that you can rightly use terms like “iconic” and “legendary.”  They emerged over 20 years ago from Chicago’s music scene, and were among the first indie rock bands to incorporate the feel of Krautrock, dub, and minimal electronica into their own groovy, ambient style.  Call it “post-rock,” “prog rock,” whatever.  The only term I would use is epic.

Tortoise last played in Madison in 2005 (in an incredible show with Daniel Lanois at The Barrymore Theater.)  And we’ve had this upcoming show on our calendar since it was announced 6 months ago… My excitement is beginning to reach a fevered pitch!

The Majestic Theatre should be a fantastic venue to see this incredible band, so don’t miss it!  Only $15.
