Review: Drive-By Truckers w/ Those Darlins @ The Majestic Theater, October 23, 2011
|The Drive-By Truckers made their way back into Madison last night as part of their Fall Tour. Patterson Hood aptly stated (as he walked on stage) that “we’re going to send this one out to Scott Brown and all them other assholes; welcome to the occupation” and then launched into a fierce rendition of “Puttin’ People on the Moon”.
DBT brought along three rip-roaring gals and a guy to open the show this time around. The Tennessee country-punk foursome, Those Darlins put on a rousing opening show, blending classic country and punk with a touch of sexy rock and roll swagger to boot.
DBT Setlist:
1. Puttin’ People On The Moon 2. Self Destructive Zones 3. The Fourth Night Of My Drinking 4.Three Dimes Down 5. Your Daddy Hates Me 6. Gravity’s Gone 7. Used To Be A Cop 8. Space City 9. Box Of Spiders 10. Carl Perkins’ Cadillac 11. Where’s Eddie? 12. Everybody Needs Love 13. Women Without Whiskey 14. Santa Fe 15. Get Downtown 16. Lookout Mountain 17. Marry Me 18. Let There Be Rock 19. Mercy Buckets 20. Zip City 21. Hell No, I Ain’t Happy 22. Shut Up and Get On The Plane 23. Angels and Fuselage (See images below)
This show was held at St.Andrews Hall and not the Majestic. DBT put on one of the better shows that I’ve seen them do but the opening band was how you say……bad. Sorry, just my take, peace.
Hey gary, what show are you talking about? This show that I’ve posted was the majestic theater. Do you want to link to another review? Thanks for checking out our site.
