LAMBCHOP, HORSE FEATHERS, BROWN BIRD – Wed., April 25, 2012 – High Noon Saloon
|Lambchop is a vehicle for singer-songwriter-guitarist Kurt Wagner. It’s been nearly two decades since they released their first album, pronouncing themselves “Nashville’s most fucked-up country band” … Lambchop is one of those bands that I’ve fantasized about seeing perform, since being captivated by their two 2004 releases – Awcmon and Noyoucmon. So I am really excited about them playing in Madison.
Merge Records has just released their 11th album – Mr. M – dedicated to the memory of Vic Chesnutt.
Lambchop is co-headlining with Horse Feathers, who we also recommend.
Opening the show are Providence, RI-based duo Brown Bird (MorganEve Swain and David Lamb). Channeling Eastern European roots music and a deep knowledge of American folk tradition, the result a darker-edged, foot-stomping romp.
Hope to see you there!
