Photo Review: Yahara Waterfront Festival 2011
|Two days of free music, food and entertainment hosted at one of Madison’s hidden green gems by the shores of Lake Monona, The Yahara Waterfront Festival has grown to attract thousands from the community to celebrate the start of Spring festival season. This year was no exception – the weather held off, and so did the bugs, and we had a great mix of some familiar and not-so-familiar artists and musicians two rock the park for the weekend.
Saturday’s lineup had an international flavor to it with The TakI All-Stars, Grupo Candela, Fareed Haque & The Flat Earth Ensemble, Aurelio Martinez Garifuna Soul (Honduras via Chicago) and The Campbell Brothers from upstate New York filling in for Yoro Ndiaye & Yoonwi from Senegal, who could not make it to the festival because of visa delays. Sunday was a more straight ahead rock affair with Harris Lemberg Trio with Special Friends, local up-and-coming favorites Sleeping in the Aviary, Americana icon Robbie Fulks, a second set by The Campbell Brothers with a blistering close by St. Louis, Missouri rockers The Bottle Rockets. Here are some pictures and a video from the weekend…
I would love to publish some of your pictures for our September/October issue of the Wil-Mar Gazette!
