Robert Johnson – “The Complete Recordings – The Centennial Collection”
|Dave from MadCity Music Exchange suggests:
One of the most influential blues artist of all time, Robert Johnson had recorded only 12 known 78rpm records (42 tracks in total if you include alternate takes) by the time of his death at the age of 27 in 1938. Those records would go on to influence the world of blues and rock & roll like no other recordings. While he may not have been the first of the great blues men, he was the most influential. This new 2-disc collection is a huge improvement over the two-disc collection released in 1990. The packaging includes: detailed liner notes, rare pictures, recording dates and–most importantly–the remastered sound quality is stunning! All the hiss and pops of previous releases are gone. Highly recommended!
This is a great collection for all blues lovers to get their hands on… I have two volumes of the recordings on LP (previous issue) and can’t wait for the remastered release to be out on vinyl!
