The Flaming Lips at Warner Park – August 9, 2012

The Flaming Lips brought their show to Madison to close out the night at the first Pondamonium festival.  Unfortunately, rain throughout the day discouraged attendance.  But by late afternoon the weather began clearing and spirits lifting for the night ahead. 

We arrived late, during Garbage‘s well-received set.  But after snagging a beverage or two, we managed to situate ourselves right in front of the soundboard (just where we like to be) for The Flaming Lips.  After a brief rain delay, everyone was primed for the moment when the music began.  If you’ve every seen The Flaming Lips, you know that the show begins with a bang.
