I was first turned on to his music when I heard “Sweet Relief II: Gravity of The Situation” (1996). It all these great artists on it covering his songs (even Madonna) – so I had check into the rest of Chusnutt’s catalog. I went out and purchased “About To Choke” and “Is the Actor Happy?”, from then I was hooked. I remember meeting him after a Barrymore show (he opened for Wilco) when he signed my copy of “Is the Actor Happy?”- just a simple “Vic” on the back is all he wrote. I was happy to have made it to his show at the High Noon Saloon this year. It was magical seeing him perform with Elf Power. I was saddened to hear that he had pasted on. RIP Vic.
