Vieux Farka Toure @ Yahara Waterfront Festival 2009

Vieux Farka Toure was back in Madison after a two year break to enthrall a welcoming audience with his blend of Malian/Saharan Afro-blues-rock. Following in the footsteps of his father, the acclaimed musician Ali Farka Toure, the 28 year old brings his own style and energy to his live shows. He has grown up since the last time he played in Madison (at the La Fete De Marquette in 2007), bringing a noticeable confidence and assurance in his guitar playing and band leadership.
