Other Info | Willy Porter is an American folk and singer-songwriter from Mequon, Wisconsin. His career as a published singer began in 1990 with his album, "The Trees Have Sou"l, although his popularity began in 1994 with his album "Dog-Eared Dream", which had the successful single Angry Words, and led to his touring as an opening act for artists including Jeff Beck,Tori Amos and The Cranberries. Porter opened for Jethro Tull, where he formed a friendship with Tull's guitarist, Martin Barre. Porter is not only a great songwriter but also an accomplished finger-style guitarist though he has focused more on ensemble free-form jam playing since the mid 1990's. Boston, MA pop singer/songwriter Chris Trapper will open the show. Chris was the former lead singer of the band, The Push Stars. Several of his songs have been picked up for major motion picture soundtracks including "There's Something About Mary" and "Say It Isn't So" and for television shows such as Pepper Dennis, ER, and Malcolm in the Middle. |
