HELEN MONEY / THE MESSTHETICS – Fri., March 8, 2019 – High Noon Saloon – Madison, WI

Expect powerful music when Helen Money opens for The Messthetics at the upcoming High Noon Saloon show.

The Messthetics is an instrumental project that reunites Fugazi’s rhythm section, drummer Brendan Canty and bassist Joe Lally, with guitarist Anthony Pirog.

I’m also very excited to see Helen Money perform! Alison Chesley, known also by her stage name Helen Money, is a classically trained cellist who is equally at home in both the New Music and New Metal realms.

“Helen Money is touring in support of Become Zero, the most recent continuation of the intensely emotive music expressed through Allison Chesley’s manipulated cello. With drummer Jason Roeder (Sleep, Neurosis), Rachel Grimes (Rachel’s) and collaborator and co-producer Will Thomas (providing sound effects and samples), Chesley takes us on a personal and visceral journey while grappling with the concepts and emotions of life’s end: loss, isolation, sorrow, peace and resolution. Equally at home in both the New Music and New Metal realms, Chesley has an extensive collaborative history with Chicago improvisers and has toured with an incredible array of musicians including Shellac, Neurosis, Sleep, Russian Circles, Magma, Agalloch, Earth, and Nina Nastasia.” – press release
